Nolan loves Thomas the tank engine clips on Youtube

Here is a Youtube we did this morning because Nolan wanted to see himself on Youtube trains and was pleased with his new track configuration. On weekends- "Mommy and Nolan and daddy days" we have lazy mornings like this a lot.

Handwriting is on the wall - September 19, 2008

Well, not really, but Nolan, who is pretty good with alphabet letters and numbers, but never has liked drawing or writing that much, spontaneously grabbed the pen out of my hand while I was circling dates on his preschool schedule. Then he said "You are Doctor - uh - Mommy ummm Saxinger and I am Nolan Saxinger Hehir." And this is my name."

And then wrote his name, with a compromise in legibility caused by the pointy marker pen lifting the paper as he tried to write. But I can read it. It says "I appear to be growing up now Mom. Be proud of me but realize I am no longer your baby." See? There on the lower R hand corner of the Glenora Preschool Special Day schedule.

Uncle Dales Birthday

Chrissies little Malcolm is a squawky sweetie. Uncle Dale is looking great.

The birthday guy did some amazing steaks. Wow.

We went to the zoo. Shortly after entry my camera died, so last pic....Nolan was melting down in anticipation of the train but had to wait in line for THREE goes before his turn. Agony.

End of Summer

Well, we like play-dough crafts and are OBSESSED with birthday candles.

At Jackie and Wayne's ... a novel way to bath kids....a trampoline (safety net), a sprinkler underneath, and a capful of bubble bath. Will, Elise, Nolan, and hosts Jordan and Jacob found it quite effective on a hot and humid day

At uncle Dale's birthday, Nolan discovered my cousin Kevin's drum set. He loved it but kept trying to play it QUIETLY. "Too loud, MOM!" when I tried to show him the cymbals.
