Aunty Nica took this photo at the Calgary zoo play area- Nolan likes smooches through barriers, it started on the stairs with a kiss for Daddy through the railing a couple of months ago.

I have not blogged much lately (sorry) but a lot has been heppening. I do have to say also that Nolan is changing so fast now- vocabulary expanding, ability to articulate and use three word sentences ("Open it up!!"), that it is hard to even think of keeping up. He has gotten pretty definitive- twice now I have offered him blueberries, and he looks at the berry and says "No! No!" with a head shake- option NONNEGOTIABLE. A few weeks ago he started grabbing me by the hand to lead me to do what he wants, and he has expanded this powerful and charming ploy a lot- he will grab a neighbours kid from playing dodgeball and drag him across the street to let their dogs out so Nolan can visit them. This is after he runs around in the middle of the dodgeball game shrieking in excitement, with all of the neighborhood kids rearranging their game and falling over themselves to avoid hitting him, and steering him out of the way. Cute.

So, he's bright, funny, stubborn, keen to help, stubborn, unmoveable from a plan once he gets it in his head (reminds me of my Dad!), In unfamiliar settings he hangs back JUST long enough to case everything out, then he starts by joining in tentatively...then is running the whole show to his specifications soon after.

P.S. Nolan is totally looking forward to meeting his cousin Leo, Aunty Nica and Uncle Jeff's brand new, very handsome baby....
